I Am Here....Now (trailer) from Cinefamily on Vimeo.
This is pretty incredible, and I have to wonder what it took to lure Breen out of his desert bunker to make a public appearance.
I have seen I Am Here....Now, and was pretty let down. Trust me, the Cinefamily-made trailer above is so much more exciting than the movie itself. It bore all the Breen signatures as Double Down, like endless desert establishing shots, ponderous pseudo-philosophical narration, and acting that can charitably be called amateur. And while the last of those can be wonderfully entertaining (especially "Hell yeah!" guy), it's so overwhelmed by the former two that it turns into quite a slog. And this is coming from someone who's seen Double Down five times. It does feature dialogue exchanges that occur in the same frame, so that's an improvement. I fear that Breen is being pulled into a vortex of his own Breeniness. And while I wouldn't want him to lose those qualities that make him the singular voice he is, I kind of want him to take a screenwriting course or two.
Anyhow, for more on Breen, check out my posts here, here, here, and here.
